Recommended for ages 15 to adult, this beginner drawing and painting class is for those who want to improve their drawing and painting skills while drawing the figure. There will be a focus on learning the correct proportions and practice with the human anatomy and the portrait. Some of the materials that will be used are pastel, charcoal, pencil and watercolor. This course will also help the serious art student develop portfolio pieces. A live model will be used in the class one time; a $10 fee is included in the class fee.

You can easily learn the basics while using acrylic paints! Students will complete a paint-along study the first 3 weeks with the instructor. Afterwards, bring your laptops to paint from your own uploaded photographs or images captured off the Internet. Of course, printed images are suitable for use as source material too. Students will explore traditional blocking-in methods while developing subject matter using expressive color, contrast and brushwork. After observing demonstrations, students will start off creating studies to learn basic techniques in color mixing and applications for building volume and space. The instructor will offer critiques to assist with constructive problem solving while exercising our vocabulary for the painting process. Supplies are provided by the student and a list will be sent one week prior to the start of class. The bulk of the investment of supplies will include paints, a few brushes, a canvas (first canvas provided). Level: Beginner thru Intermediate.

Learn how to create one of the oldest form of textile - felt. Class offers various wet felting techniques to create unique accessories using natural wool fibers. From basic traditional to contemporary feltmaking. A material fee of $30 paid to the instructor.

With individual guidance and instruction, learn how to refine your personal style while sharpening your painting skills. Various aspects of technique, color mixing and application are covered depending on what is needed to rework an old painting or start something new. Students use their own photos or an iPad for reference. A Still Life can be set up in class too. Oils, acrylics, pastels, charcoal, graphite or ink... the instructor can help in any medium. A class like this keeps all students inspired as they learn from each other! At the end of class everyone participates in a positive, constructive critique of the works done that day. This is for students with intermediate through advanced painting skills.
A drawing and painting class for middle school and high school students ages 13-17 who want to improve their drawing and painting skills. There will be a focus on learning interesting compositions, perspective knowledge in drawing, and practice with color mixing, and handling the paint brush.

Dive into imaginative worlds and wild character experiences where you make your own comics and story lines come to life. Learn skills in sequential storytelling and character development through story boarding techniques used by actual professionals in the industry of animation. Go home with your very own unique comic! This class is great for all ages and can be taken multiple times, each session is a new story waiting to be shared with friends and family, full of personality and originality! Recommended for ages 8 - 12. There is an artist in all of us! If you agree with Picasso and like to experiment with art supplies, then this class is for you. Young art students will be inspired by using a variety of materials and mediums such as acrylic paint, tempera, oil pastels, dry pastels, ink. They will have the freedom to apply new techniques, try different styles, and to think outside the box. We will explore the process of painting, drawing and printmaking. We will have fun achieving textures and effects on interesting surfaces. Children will delve into this creative mind set with enthusiasm and leave with unique artwork and a happy heart!
