    Teaching Artist: Nelly Kouzmina

    Learn various techniques of making one of the oldest textiles in the world - felt using simple tools and natural fibers. Student will get start up kit with necessary supplies on the first day of class ($30 cash or check made payable to the instructor on the first day of class). Information on additional material to purchase will be provided. Extra materials will be available during class to share. For ages 18+.

    Teaching Artist: Chris Monteiro

    Drawing and Painting for Beginners and Experienced
    Something for everybody!
    You will learn many techniques and methods for producing watercolor paintings of your own. Learn the basics of pictorial composition, perspective and many other aspects of ART!
    You will be more informed about brushes, paint and paper types and what is best for you. Learn to paint tree, skies, people, animals and much more.
    No previous experienced is required. By the end of this course you will be able to finish a watercolor painting with confidence! Beginners or advanced.

    Teaching Artist: Richard Romero

    This workshop is designed to help participants improve their figure drawing skills through direct observation of a live, clothed model. Over a structured series of sessions, participants will explore anatomy, proportion, gesture, and shading while practicing a variety of drawing techniques in a supportive environment.

    Model fee is included in the cost of the class.

    Give a new life to your old clothing by creating unique accessories and artwork.
    Using a traditional and new approach to utilize your old possession learn how to:
    1. Create unique piece of accessory and artwork
    2. Reduce textile waste
    3. Save money to prolong life of clothing
    4. Slow stitch and in contemporary embroidery - a mindful, creative hand stitching practice that emphasizes the process and enjoyment of creating something by hand, rather than focusing on speed or perfection
    5. Sashiko and Boro Stitch
    6. Wabi-Sabi in textile
    7. Stress relief

    Teaching Artist: Ilya Lerner

    This course of drawing from observation is for artists of any level working in any monochrome media. A wonderful art form in itself, good drawing is a must for any artist, be it a painter, a sculptor, a print maker or a designer.

    You will learn about composition, proportions, perspective, positive and negative shapes, light and shadow, value and other fundamentals of drawing. You will train your eye and hand, and will be acquainted with work of master draftsmen and various approaches to drawing. It’s recommended to work in charcoal on Bristol paper, but various drawing materials can be used and will be discussed.
    A $65 modeling fee for the use of a model in two classes is included in the cost of this class.
     For ages 18+.
