Join us for our next in-person Art Chat in February 2026!

Friday, February 27 from 7-9 PM

Guest Artist: Lucine Kaplan

We are delighted to have Lucine join us for the next Art Chat on February 27th offering an intimate look at the evolution of her career and creative practice. Kaplan will share insight into how her materials, process, and concepts have evolved alongside the personal experiences that shaped them.

Lucine is the originator of her signature 2D fiber drawing medium - pantyhose. Collected from Dancers across the United States, upcycled, torn, and adhered to her handmade hook canvas.

Come and enjoy an informal discussion, maybe have some wine and otherwise get to know your fellow artists and members.

On April 25, 2025 30+ AOY members and long-time River Rats plein air painters, Bob McBride and April Ann Bohmler held a discussion about painting En Plein Air. En plein air is a French phrase meaning "in the open air," and describes the process of painting a landscape outdoors. Bob and April Ann shared their experiences and personal stories painting with the River Rats group. The River Rats had formed under ArtsBridge, another Bucks County arts group that folded in early 2025. It has since merged with AOY.

To begin, look for the three Ps in plein air: 1) a Place to Park; 2) a Point of Interest; and 3) A Place to Pee!

"You learn a lot about a community by how much it embraces, elevates and provides access to the arts. AOY Art Center, a nonprofit artistic hub on Mirror Lake Road, provides countless opportunities for residents to embrace their artistic side as a vehicle for growth, creativity, and profound joy. Through adult classes, youth programs, and public events, AOY Art Center uses the arts to not only inspire community members but also connect them to one another."
