This course offers guided instruction to beginning students and those developing skills in watercolor painting. We explore the translucent qualities that are unique to this versatile medium. Essential techniques include: basic washes, mixing/blending colors, painting loose, creating texture, using value sketches to compose a painting, and combining colors to achieve harmonious effects. Specific projects are presented with encouragement for artists to progress at their own rate. Subjects to be painted may be still life set-ups, landscapes, and printed or electronic images. A list of suggested supplies will be emailed.
