Summer 2026 AOY SUMMER ART CAMP - PARENT INFORMATION We are delighted that you have selected AOY Summer Art Camp for your child. We want to make this year a creative, fun and special learning experience for campers. Please review the information below to ensure all goes smoothly for your child. Drop Off and Pick Up During Curbside Drop Off and Pick Up, the driveway is one-way. Enter at the AOY Art Center sign and then exit around the garage and follow the drive to the white farmhouse, known as the Satterthwaite house, unless you are otherwise instructed. Some vehicles may be asked to drive through the parking area past the first barn to exit. Please stay in line. If you have a registration or payment issue only park on paved or gravel areas, not on the grass or the field. Be sure to allow sufficient room for cars to pass. We ask that you try to resolve any issues prior to the start of camp. If you need to turn in paperwork we have a drop box on our patio area for a no-contact transaction. It’s no fun having someone blocking you when you need to get to work. If you are running late, please call the Art Center at 215-493-1205. We really appreciate your help and patience with the home screening, curbside drop off and pick up this year. Drop off is between 8:55 and 9:10 am for the AM camps and between 12:50 and 1 pm for PM camps. Parents or guardians must pull up to the area near the tent or flag areas. Parents will not be permitted to enter the Art Center. You will see aides with clipboards eager to greet camp families. Please give the aide your child's name after pulling up. An aide or instructor will sign the child into camp each day and sign them out as well, as this limits contact and is recommended. Children will then be directed into the building to their camp. Mask wearing is optional and children should be given instruction by parents prior to drop off. We highly recommend that you ask your child how they feel each morning prior to camp. This at-home screening process will help to keep everyone safe. If your child’s temperature is above the recommended number (100 degrees), and considered to be a fever, we ask that you keep your child home. We can not allow anyone to attend camp who has a fever. Pick Up will be curbside with each camp being picked up in designated areas indicated by cones. It is important for your child’s safety that we have the names of people authorized to pick up your child curbside. If there are any changes to the list you provided when you registered your child, please email me prior to the start of camp at camp@aoyarts.org. Also, if there is a person who should NOT be allowed to pick up your child, please let us know that as well. Campers will be waiting for their vehicle to pull up and to be signed out by the aide or instructor. Either you or the person authorized to pick up your child should pull up curbside and let the aide/instructor know who is being picked up. This will help keep pick up running smoothly. We also recommend placing a piece of paper with your child's name on your dashboard. This is especially helpful on rainy days. You will be directed where to go to keep the flow of traffic moving. Snacks AOY does not provide snacks. If your child needs a snack during the mid-session break, they should have it in an insulated bag. Refrigeration should not be expected. Water is always available. Please ensure that all snacks are peanut free for the consideration of other campers. Campers staying for both AM and PM sessions must bring their own lunch. We will have a teaching assistant assigned to lunch duty. Please pack a beach towel for break time on the lawn in a relaxed manner. Allergies or Other Special Needs If you haven’t already done so, please let us know prior to camp starting if there are any special needs with regards to allergies, medical or social issues. We will do our best to accommodate these and of course keep them in confidence. Masks Currently, campers are not required to wear masks. However, all campers are welcome to wear masks to protect themselves and others when in the building. We suggest if your child wishes to wear a mask to please put their name on it. They may want to take their mask off at break and if we are working on projects outside. We are encouraging instructors to take the kids outside to do art work, when possible, and for breaks. Classrooms As campers enter the Center, signage on the doors will direct them to the designated classroom for their camp. All classrooms are individually air conditioned. We are keeping good air circulation throughout the building as recommended. Sanitation stations will be in each room as well as in the bathroom and kitchen. Breaks The teacher will take a mid-session outdoor stretch. We recommend and ask campers to wash/sanitize hands before and after break. Campers should wear appropriate footwear in anticipation of being outside. Campers can also relax on the beach towels they brought from home while enjoying their snack and drink. Seating areas are set up outside in circles to accommodate campers. We also offer other seating areas for those campers who wish to sit together during breaks. Absences To report your child’s absence due to illness, please phone the Art Center at 215-493-1205 and leave a message. Sorry, but there are no refunds for a day missed. If your child does not attend camp on a scheduled day please expect a phone call from AOY. We will keep any information shared about specific individuals in confidence. The Farm The Patterson Farm is a working farm. We ask that you respect the farm equipment and fields and do not permit your children to climb on or go near this equipment or to run in the fields where they can damage crops. Thank you for sending your child to AOY Summer Art Camp! We look forward to a great summer where your child’s creativity can flourish! Kristin McMahon-Roba |
