Get ready to sculpt fabulous creations with clay! Artists will score, slip, and join air clay to create many decorative and functional objects they can later paint, decoupage, or seal (in the following week's class). Projects may include a pencil holder, magnets, a trinket box, and more. Projects/designs may vary according to the season.

The last week of class will be spent finalizing the remainder of our creations from Week 4 with paint, etc. Guardians may want to provide their student with a shoe box/small box with tissue/newspaper to transport clay pieces home Weeks 2-6.

Recommended ages 9-12, but artists as young as 8 may register with prior clay experience. Clay is not food/water/heat safe.

No classes May 4 or May 25.

Please note that this class may be held on the second floor of the building, and there is no elevator access. Students must be able to climb one flight of stairs.

Here is a link for details regarding AOY Terms & Conditions. Online payment at time of registration is preferred. Please note, if you choose to use the "payment by check" option, that checks are accepted only during the first 4 weeks of registration and the check payment option expires two weeks prior to the start of each class. Checks must be received two weeks prior to the start date for completion of registration in order to be added to the class roster. Registrations will be cancelled if payments are not received prior to these deadlines.

"You learn a lot about a community by how much it embraces, elevates and provides access to the arts. AOY Art Center, a nonprofit artistic hub on Mirror Lake Road, provides countless opportunities for residents to embrace their artistic side as a vehicle for growth, creativity, and profound joy. Through adult classes, youth programs, and public events, AOY Art Center uses the arts to not only inspire community members but also connect them to one another."
