Teaching Artist: Leigh Ferello

Unleash your creativity in this immersive 3-hour workshop blending two ancient Japanese art forms: Suminagashi (the art of floating ink) and Gyotaku (the traditional technique of fish printing).
? Suminagashi: Discover the magic of marbling as you guide ink across water’s surface to create hypnotic, one-of-a-kind prints. No two are ever the same—let the chaos flow!
? Gyotaku: Get hands-on with nature as you ink sea life replicas* and press them to paper, capturing intricate textures and lifelike details in a bold, beautiful statement.
Perfect for adventurous beginners and seasoned artists alike.
*no live shellfish is used
All materials provided. Just bring your curiosity—and clothes you don’t mind getting inky.

A $12 material fee due to instructor the day of the workshop.

This one-day workshop is also offered Sunday, March 22, 9 am - 12 pm and Tuesday, April 7, 1 - 4 pm .
