You can easily learn the basics while using acrylic paints! Students will complete a painting with the instructor, exploring traditional blocking-in methods while developing subject matter using expressive color, contrast and brushwork.
This still life painting offers an opportunity to explore a wide range of value changes and color mixing to evoke a silver pitcher with a metallic and reflective appearance. The instructor will demonstrate color mixing and paint applications for each step throughout the 6 weeks of this paintings' buildup/progression. Supplies are provided by the student and a list will be sent one week prior to the start of class or as soon as a roster of 3 is created during registration. The bulk of the investment of supplies will include paints, a few brushes, two canvases 11x14" and a 16x20" (for color mixing exercises).
Level: Beginner thru Intermediate.
Also offered Tuesday afternoons 1-3:30 pm.

Please note, if you choose to use the "payment by check" option, that checks are accepted only during the first 4 weeks of registration and the check payment option expires two weeks prior to the start of each class. Checks must be received two weeks prior to the start date for completion of registration in order to be added to the class roster. Registrations will be cancelled if payments are not received prior to these deadlines.
