Mission & History

Artists of Yardley, founded in 2004, is a non-profit organization that fosters creativity in the community. Initially focused on local artists, it expanded to support young artists and the wider community. Now known as AOY Art Center they found a Center on Patterson Farm in 2010.

AOY Art Center offers various programs, including shows, education for adults and youth, and a popular summer art camp. With over 290 artist members, ranging from beginners to professionals, AOY provides exciting and innovative programs taught by professionals. They host juried and non-juried shows, fundraising events, and social gatherings to showcase artists' work.

    • To share ideas and information through networking and discourse.

    • To establish a contact point for local art collectors.

    • To achieve creative growth as artists through education.

    Board

    AOY Art Center is governed by a Board comprised of business and civic leaders from the community, artists and creative professionals, and local patrons of the arts. The Board meets regularly throughout the year. The Art Center is actively seeking new board and committee members with a passion for the arts, experience in resource development, and the time and energy to invest in the betterment of our community.     The AOY Art Center is located at the historic Janney House on Patterson Farm in Lower Makefield at 949 Mirror Lake Road, Yardley PA 19067-5514. GPS users may have better success entering Morrisville for the city.

    ~ Directions ~

    The closest airport is Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). If traffic is minimal, the AOY Art Center is about a 35 minute drive from the airport. From the AIRPORT EXIT, take the ramp onto I-95 North toward PHILADELPHIA. After about 26 miles on I-95 North bear left to continue onto I-295 East for 8 more miles until EXIT 8, NEWTOWN/YARDLEY exit. On the ramp, get into the right lane to turn right at the light onto NEWTOWN BYPASS (PA-332 E). At the next light turn right on MIRROR LAKE ROAD. Go about 0.2 mile; the entrance to the AOY Art Center is the second long driveway on the right. (The first long driveway on the right is the exit.)

The Art Center is located at the end of the long straight driveway in the historic stone house at the left of the driveway. The house is often referred to as the Janney House.
